Abstract
The vapor-liquid equilibrium data for methyl alcohol-ethyl acetate system measured under subatmospheric pressures are presented in this paper.
In order to confirm the accuracy of the experimental results, the x-y data measured are thermodynamically analyzed by the method applied in the previous studies(-3).
It is shown that the plot between logarithmic value of relative volatility and liquid phase composition is linear and the pressure variation does not change the slope of the plot.
An empirical x-y relation is proposed and the pressure effect on the azeotropic composition is discussed in this paper.
