Abstract
This review introduces the historical background of vapor-liquid equilibrium equations that have been presented on the basis of the solution theory.
Particularly, local composition equations and the total pressure method are briefly discussed.
The topics of this review are divided into three parts:
1) The method for determination vapor-liquid equilibrium data
2) Correlations between the solution theory and activity coefficients
3) Total pressure method.
