Recovery of Elemental Sulfur from Pyrites

Abstract

Pyrite의 열분해와 열분해에서 생성된 Pyrrhotite 및 천연의 Pyrrhotite의 수용액 산화반응에 의하여 산화철과 원소황을 얻는 공정에 대하여 연구하였다.
열분해에서는 온도 및 시간에 대한 영향을 고찰하였으며, Autoclave의 액상반응에서는 온도, 압력 반응시간 및 교반과 입자의 크기에 대한 회수율의 영향을 조사하였다.
열분해반응에서는 온도 700∼750 ℃에서 반응시간 30분에서 우리가 원하는 Pyrrotite와 구조가 비슷한 FeS1·2를 얻을 수 있었으며 액상 산화반응에서는 150 psig, 110 ℃, 반응시간 90분에서 70 %가량의 회수율을 얻을 수 있었다.
The elemental sulfur recovery from the thermal decomposition of pyrite and the aqueous oxidation of pyrrhotite were studied in a batch and fluidized bed reactors.
In the thermal decomposition reaction, the effects of reaction time, temperature and particle size on the rate of reaction conversion were examined.
In thermal decomposition reaction, the optimum reaction conversion was obtained in the temperature range of 700 and 750 ℃ and reaction time of 30 minutes.
In aqueous oxidation process, 70 % of elemental sulfur was recovered from pyrrhotite (-60 + 325 mesh) at temperature of 110 ℃, pressure of 150 psig and reaction time of 90 minutes.
