Abstract

석탄기화를 위한 석탄 전처리 및 석탄기화 반응을 내경 3 inch 유동층 반응기에서 대기압하에 행하였다.
370∼420 ℃에서 plastic range에 속하는 역청탄은 caking 특성을 가지며 이 caking 특성은 유동층 반응기에서 원활한 가스화 반응을 일으키기 위하여 제거되어야만 한다.
석탄 전처리과정의 최적조건 즉, volatile 물질의 무게손실을 줄이고 최소의 caking 특성을 가지는 조건을 쫓기 위하여 조업온도(330∼440 ℃), 체류시간(10∼30분) 및 산소/석탄비(0.08, 0.16, 0.24)를 변화시켜서 실험을 행하였다.
Caking 특성은 "Free Swelling Index"방법으로 결정하였다. 본 실험에서 전처리과정의 최적조건은 산소/석탄비가 0.08이고 440 ℃에서의 체류시간이 10분일 때임을 알 수 있었다.
석탄전처리 후 석탄의 volatile 성분의 19 wt% 감소를 보였다. 석탄 기화공정에서 CO/CO2 및 (CO+H2)의 양은 유동층 온도 상승에 따라 증가함을 알 수 있었다.
Coal pretreatment and gasification are studied in a 3 inch diameter fluidized bed at atmospheric pressure.
Bituminous rank coal, which appeares by heating coal up to plastic range (370∼420 ℃), has a caking characteristic which has to be removed for use in fluidized bed reactors.
In order to find optimum conditions of pretreatment, i.e., minimum weight loss or volatile matter and minimum caking property, operating conditions such as temperature (330∼340 ℃), residence time (10∼30 minutes), and oxygen to coal ratio (0.08, 0.16, 0.24) have been varied. Caking propery is determined by Free Swelling Index method.
The optimum operating conditions have been found from the pretreatment experiments such that the oxygen to coal ratio is 0.08 and residence time is 10 minutes at temperature of 440 ℃.
Weight loss of coal by the pretreatment is 19 percent of its inherent volatile matter contents. The ratio of carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and the sum of carbon monoxide and hydrogen produced by coal gasification increase with bed temperature.
