Abstract

Over the entire range of electrolyte concentration, the equilibrium vapor pressures of an electrolyte solution consisting of a single solvent (water, methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) were obtained by using gas chromatograph at 30 ℃ and 40 ℃.
The Scatchard-Raymond equation was introduced to obtain activities of solvents. These values were compared with those calculated by two theoretical modles : the ASOG model and NRTL model based on the concepts of group contribution and new local composition respectively.
Calculated values by two models and experimental values obtained from Scatchard-Raymond equation were found to be in a good agreement with the ASOG model showing a slightly better fit.
