Abstract

관형발효기에 효모 Saccharomyces formosensis를 고정화한 alginate gel을 충전하여 연속발효 실험을 수행하여 온도와 pH 변화에 따른 ethanol 생산성에 대한 영향을 검토하였다. 관형발효기의 최적 pH는 5였으나 pH 변화에 따른 생산성 변화는 매우 완만하였다. 관형발효기의 최적온도는 33℃였으며, activation 에너지는 3kcal/mol였다.
관형발효기에서 최대 ethanol 생산성은 ethanol 농도 48.7-53.6g/l 범위에서 69.1-76.1g EtOH/lㆍh로서 매우 높아 본 고정화법에 의한 ethanol 생산이 매우 효과적인 것을 알 수 있었으며, ethanol 수율을 0.465g EtOH/l였다.
Saccharomyces formosensis cells were immobilized in calcium alginate beads and used for a con-tinuous production of ethanol. The immobillized yeast cells were examined in a packed-bed reactor operated under various temperature and pH. Ethanol production rate with the immobilized yeast showed a temperature optimum of 33℃ and a broad range of optimum pH. Under the optimum conditions, ethanol productivity of 69.1-76.1g EtOH/lㆍh could be obtained by using 12.4%(W/V)glucose as the substrate.
