Abstract

Polybutadiene계 Polymer인 Carboxyl Terminated Polybutadiene(CTPB)을 여러 온도 조건하에서 열적노화를 시켜 물리 화학적 특성변화를 고찰하였다. CTPB는 노화 온도가 높을수록 특성변화가 심하게 나타났다. CTPB 노화의 주원인은 Polybutadiene양 말단에 위치한 카르복시 작용기가 분해되면서 노화가 시작됨을 실험으로 확인하였다. Arrhenius 식으로부터 구한 카르복시기 감소에 대한 활성화에너지는 19.5kcal/mole이었다. 노화된 CTPB로 추진제를 제조하여 기계적 성질과 Gel함량을 비교하였다. 그 결과 추진제의 기계적 성질이 CTPB 노화에 따라 큰 감소현상을 나타내었는데, 이는 CTPB 의 반응성 저하가 주원인임을 알았다.
Liquid carboxyl terminated polybutadiene(CTPB) was aged at various temperature and analized for the physicochemical properties. The CTPB properties were degraded with the aging time and temperature. CTPB ther-mal degradation was observed due to the decomposition of carboxyl functional group situated at the end of butadiene chain. The activation energy for carboxyl group decreasing rate from arrhenius plot was found to be 19.5kcal/mole. Solid composite propellants were manufactured with aged CTPB and mechanical properties and gel contents were tested. The mechanical properties of propellants decreased with the degree of CTPB aging condition, because the reac-tivity of aged CTPB was reduced.
