Abstract

This study was performed to evaluate the effect of clinoptilolite addition on nitrification in activated sludge process. As a result, clinoptilolite dosage increased microbial concentration by 10,800 mg ·MLVSS/l. In addition, the application of clinoptilolite improved nitrification by 90% approximately, despite of peptone inhibition and revealed stable nitrification at 0.42 kg·TKN/m(3)·d.
