Abstract

안료제조공정에서 배출되는 염화알루미늄 용액에 대한 응집제로의 재활용에 대한 가치를 높이기 위하여 무기고분자 응집제인 PACl을 제조하고 적용하고자 하였다. 우선 배출되는 염화알루미늄 용액에 대한 전처리를 통하여 다량 함유되어 있는 구리를 제거하고 알루미늄의 함량을 높일 수 있었다. 전처리한 염화알루미늄 용액에 염기를 첨가함으로서 고분자성 Al으로의 전이에 따라 PACl을 제조할 수 있었다. 제조된 PACl의 경우 시판되는 PACl 보다 많은 고분자성 Al종을 함유하는 것으로 나타났다. 제조된 PACl의 응집실험 결과, 실험에 사용된 응집제의 응집효율은 제조된 PACl>시판되는 PACl>전처리된AlCl3>alum 순으로 나타났다. 응집실험에 있어서 제조된 PACl과 시판되는 PACl의 경우, 제조된 PACl에 있어서 적은 Al의 양으로도 응집제내에 함유된 고분자성 Al종에 의한 응집 폐염화알루미늄용액을 이용한 PACl 제조 및 적용 효율이 우수한 것으로 나타났다.
This research explored the feasibility of preparing Polyaluminum Chloride(PACl) as a coagulant for wastewater treatment from recycling AlCl3 solution wasted from pigment production process. Pretreatment process for the wasted AlCl3 solution was conducted to remove copper and increase the Al contents in PACl. Adding the base in the pretreated AlCl3 solution can produce PACl, resulting in producing a large amount of polymeric Al species. The experimental results showed that the synthesized PACl contained higher polymeric Al species than the commercial PACl available. The effectiveness of coagulation for chemical wastewater with four coagulants showed that the effectiveness was in the order of the synthesized PACl>commercial PACl>pretreated AlCl3>alum. When comparing the synthesized PACl to the commercial PACl, the synthesized PACl was more effective in the coagulation of the chemical wastewater than the commercial PACl due to its higher polymeric Al species contents.
