Abstract

세제 빌더의 중요한 물성인 흡유능(O.A.C)을 향상시키기 위하여 새로운 합성방법인 2단계 결정화법을 이용하여 제올라이트 4A를 합성하였다. 즉, 기존의 원료인 cullet(SiO2)과 수산화알루미늄 대신에 베트남산 모래와 천연 보크사이트로부터 용출한 알루민산소다 용액을 활성탄소로 정제하여 사용하였고, 합성과정은 1단계는 Si/Al 몰비를 1.15로 조절하고 55 ℃에서 4시간, 2단계는 알루미나 용액을 추가로 가하여 Si/Al 몰비를 0.98로 낮추고 65 ℃에서 5시간 반응시켰다. 새로운 방법은 제올라이트 4A의 입도(평균 1.2 μm)와 입자응집 및 표면극성을 더 잘 제어할 수 있었고, 백색도를 향상시켰다. 이렇게 합성된 제올라이트 4A는 기존제품과 비교하여 대등한 칼슘이온교환 능력을 가짐은 물론 100 g당 50 ml 이상의 우수한 흡유능력을 보여줌으로서 새로운 공정의 경제성 및 유효성이 검증되었다.
Zeolite 4A was prepared by new synthesis method, 2-step crystallization, for enhancement of oil absorption capacity. Vietnamese sand and NaAlO2 solution from natural bauxite were used as raw materials in stead of conventional cullet and Al(OH)3 to reduced the processing cost. Some dissolved organics in NaAlO2 solution were removed by activated carbon. Synthetic method was progressed by 1) reacting the raw materials at 55 ℃, 4 hr with the ratio of Si/Al to 1.15, and 2) reacting at 65 ℃, 5 hr with reducing the ratio of Si/Al to 0.98. New method can easily control the particle size, aggregation, surface polarity, and enhanced the whiteness of the products. The prepared zeolite 4A shows excellent oil absorption capacity(O.A.C>50 ml/100 g) as well as equal value with calcium ion exchange capacity, and proves the 2-step crystallization is the economic and effective process for the preparation of zeolite 4A.
