Abstract

본 연구에서는 초기에 정지된 상태로 있는 수평유체층의 밑면을 등온으로 가열할 때 자연대류의 유발시 점을 전파이론을 도입함으로써 해석하였다. 선형이론하에서 Prandtl수와 Rayleigh수의 함수로 제의되었다. 새로운 상관식은 수은, 공기, 물, 실리콘오일 같은 실험치들과 잘 일치한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
In the present study the onset of natural convection in an initially quiescent, horizontal fluid layer heated isothermally from below has been analysed, by employing the propagation theory. The stability analysis under the linear theory has been conducted deterministically for the limiting cases of extremely small and infinite Prandtl numbers. A new heat transfer correlation connecting the theoretical critical conditions on thermal instability to tur-bulent thermal convection has been suggested as a function of both the Rayleigh number and the Prandtl number. It is found that the resulting new correlation agrees well with experimental data of mercury, air, water and silicon oil.
