The Measurement of Specific Surface Area by Gas Chromatography

Abstract

Specific surface areas of various catalysts were measured by B. E. T. method and by gas chromatography of acetone desorption-curve method and discussed about their measuring methods and results.
The results of both B. E. T. method and gas chromatography show good agreement.
It was also found that there was proportionality between A. A. I. and specific surface area, but that it is impossible to use A. A. I. as a index of surface area for the range of small specific surface area.
